Series 1200

Based on commercial electronic scales the gravimetric (fill by weight) units offer accurate and rapid filling of containers up to 200 litre capacity. Two different basic models - 1200 (5-30 litres) and 1201 (20-200 litres) - are available in either top fill or sub surface (bottom-up) fill configuration. Sub surface fill mechanisms incorporate a hydro-pneumatic drive the lance, to facilitate precise synchronisation with the fill rate, and also include a feature which ensures that the lance does not retract from the container before the fill is complete. All machines incorporate a two-stage cut-off and non-drip nozzles to ensure accurate and clean filling of a wide range of products.

1200B Single Head Filler

All product contact parts are manufactured from stainless steel or suitable plastics, and construction is generally corrosion resistant. Flow rate is adjustable for both the bulk and dribble phases of the fill - provision must be made to pump or gravity feed product to the machine at compatible rates.

In semi-automatic operation (after the final weight, dribble and pre-act values are entered) a container is placed on the scale platform and, if necessary, the opening positioned in line with the filling nozzle. If a pre-determined tare value has not been entered individual containers may be tared manually - a fully automatic tare facility is also available. The fill cycle is then initiated by either push-button or foot pedal - the bulk of the fill (85%-95%) being dispensed at a fast rate and the remainder being restricted to a dribble to ensure accurate shut-off at the desired weight. With sub-surface fill units the lance extends to the bottom of the container before filling commences and pauses until the product level rises to cover the tip - then retracts slowly with the fill level, finally withdrawing from the container at a faster rate after the fill is complete. The fill cycle is aborted if the lance touches the container during its downward movement, thus preventing damage should the opening be incorrectly aligned.

The 1200 range includes single and dual head automated units, any of which may incorporate automatic orientation of the container opening if required. Recording and statistical facilities may also be provided.

Machines are adaptable for use in hazardous goods areas (class 1, zone 1). In these cases protection is afforded by a combination of EXD (flameproof) and EXI (intrinsically safe) techniques.
